On Feb. 13 vs. FIU, Tilbuerger was the anchor of the Knights, clinching the match with a straight-set victory over Jelena Vico, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 2 position. Two days later, against Miami, Tilbuerger delivered one of her most dominant performances of the season, defeating Sofia Rocchetti 6-2, 6-2.
She controlled the match from the outset, breaking serve multiple times in each set and applying relentless pressure. The convincing win not only demonstrated her consistency at the No. 2 spot but also provided critical momentum in the match, with her victory giving the Black and Gold a narrow 3-2 edge.
Competing at the No. 1 doubles position this weekend alongside Marina Gatell, Tilbuerger was equally impactful in doubles play, clinching the advantage in both the Knights’ matches.
Against FIU, the duo earned a 6-3 victory over the pairing of Katerina Mandelikova and Viktorie Hazmukova, sealing the doubles point and giving the team early momentum.
In Sunday’s matchup against Miami, Tilbuerger and Gatell faced a tougher challenge but rose to the occasion with a gritty 7-5 win over Dominika Podhajecka and Raquel Gonzalez. In a tightly contested battle, Tilbuerger’s poise in crucial deuce points and decisive net play at 5-5 proved to be the difference. The victory at No. 1 doubles was instrumental in setting the tone against a strong ACC opponent.
