ORLANDO – Coming off a share of the Big 12 regular-season championship and with the 2026 dual-match season just over a week away, the UCF women’s tennis team has been selected No. 2 in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced Tuesday afternoon.
Head coach Bryan Koniecko produced a landmark 2025 season, highlighted by winning UCF Athletics’ first-ever Big 12 team championship, claiming a share of the Big 12 regular-season title in just the Knights' second season in the conference. The squad was 12-1 in conference play, establishing itself among the conference’s elite, while posting a perfect 13-0 home record at the USTA National Campus.
The Knights entered last year’s Big 12 Championship as the No. 2 seed, advancing all the way to the conference final, further cementing their breakthrough season, while Koniecko became the winningest coach in UCF women’s tennis history.
On the national stage, the Black and Gold earned a No. 21 final national ranking and secured the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Raleigh Regional, marking the program’s fifth NCAA Tournament appearance under Koniecko and the 10th in program history.
