ORLANDO – After leading the charge in the men’s basketball conference opener, UCF’s Riley Kugel has been named to the Big 12 Starting Five, as announced Monday afternoon.
Kugel is joined on the list by BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, Iowa State’s Joshua Jefferson and Milan Momcilovic, and Texas Tech’s JT Toppin.
The senior paced the Knights in a statement 81-75 victory over then-No. 17 Kansas this past weekend, scoring 19 points on 8-of-17 shooting. His performance was highlighted by a game-sealing and-one in the closing moments.
