ORLANDO – The UCF women’s tennis team appeared at No. 25 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, released Wednesday, following a successful showing at ITA Kickoff Weekend.

The Black and Gold battled through the busy weekend in Baton Rouge, La., opening play Saturday, Jan. 24, against then-No. 18 UCLA. The Bruins took early control, claiming the doubles point with 6-2 and 6-3 wins, eventually using the advantage to secure a 4-1 victory despite the Knights’ fight in singles.
However, the squad bounced back Sunday with a dominant 4-0 sweep of Marshall, jumping ahead early with the doubles-point advantage. The group kept its edge in singles with near simultaneous wins from Jantje Tilbuerger, Vladislava Andreevskaya, and Jade Psonka, sealing their 4-0 victory and ending ITA Kickoff Weekend with a bang.
The Knights are one of just three Big 12 teams ranked in the top 25 in the latest poll, alongside No. 8 Oklahoma State and No. 22 Texas Tech. The ranking also marks the 16th consecutive week the Black and Gold have appeared in the national top 25, dating back to their debut at No. 20 on Feb. 12, 2025. The full Jan. 28 ITA Rankings can be seen below.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Knights will head to Tallahassee, Fla., this Friday, Jan. 30, to face the Florida State Seminoles, kicking off a three-game road swing in the Sunshine State. The team will return to its home courts at the USTA National Campus on Feb. 20, where it will take on Florida Atlantic at 6 PM.
