ORLANDO - UCF men’s tennis has yet again moved up in the latest ITA rankings, bumping up to No. 17. The Knights were previously slotted in at No. 18 and have jumped up a spot per the updated April 1st rankings.
This new placement comes after a week-long break of play for the team. The squad last saw action on the 23rd as they emerged triumphant against No. 52 Utah. The Black and Gold won the match 4-1, which brought the team to 16-6 for the season.
Junior Yassine Dlimi ascended to No. 77 in the latest rankings, a significant improvement from his previous position at No. 90. Dlimi advanced 13 spots following an impressive performance in the match against Utah, where he successfully shifted the momentum for the Knights and defeated his opponent, Reid Jarvis, with scores of 6-3, 6-4.
Fellow junior Mehdi Benchakroun continues to hold a position within the top 100 rankings, currently placed at No. 86. Benchakroun delivered a commendable performance for the Black and Gold in the match against Utah, securing a first-set tie-break victory.

The UCF men’s tennis team will make its next appearance this Thursday at home as it takes on No. 16 Baylor. In their last encounter, the Knights swept Baylor 4-0 in an electrifying showdown. The team is hoping to maintain the same momentum this time around and emerge victorious.
