by Jenna VanHoose

Big 12 Block Parties have returned for another season, and everyone is invited. The Knights will host four free block parties this season, with the first slated for Saturday, Jan. 3, from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the UCF men’s basketball team taking on No. 16 Kansas at 2 p.m. inside Addition Financial Arena.

The family-friendly events will take place on East Plaza Drive and will feature food and drinks from local establishments, inflatables and games for kids, music, tabling with giveaways and much more.

Two more block parties will take place in January as the Knights host No. 1 Arizona on Jan. 17, with festivities running from 2–4 p.m. ahead of a 4 p.m. tipoff against the Wildcats. The Black and Gold face off against No. 19 Texas Tech on Jan. 31, with a block party beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a noon tip.

The final block party of the season will take place Feb. 28 as UCF takes on Baylor at 8 p.m. with festivities beginning at 6 p.m.

Admission to the block parties is free, and parking will be available in local parking garages. Season parking passes will also continue to work as they do on a normal gameday.

East Plaza Drive will close five hours before game time on Block Party dates.
