WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Black and Gold battled and hung with seventh-seeded No. 15 Georgetown throughout the majority of the match, but the squad fell in its NCAA second-round tilt with the Hoyas, 2-0, Sunday evening.

The effort concludes the UCF men’s soccer team’s fall 2025 campaign, as the group finishes the year with an 11-7-3 overall record and a 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship.

Despite the losing result, the Knights clinched a berth in the NCAA Tournament’s round of 32 in each of the program’s five NCAA Tournament appearances under head coach Scott Calabrese, as well as the seventh overall round of 32 berth in program history.

With their 2025 Sun Belt Tournament title, the Black and Gold also secured their second double-digit win campaign in the last three seasons and their fourth such season under Calabrese.

On the heels of the team’s 3-2 triumph over Florida Atlantic in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at home Thursday evening, UCF held the Hoyas’ potent offensive efforts scoreless for close to 70 minutes before a Georgetown offense that entered the evening ranking within the nation’s top 20 in goals per game, assists per game and points per game finally broke through in the 69th minute.

The Hoyas would add one more in the 80th minute to double their advantage.

Though they were unable to find the back of the net, the Knights still managed 10 shot attempts to Georgetown’s 11 and matched the Hoyas’ four shots on target with four of their own.
