Men's Tennis Unveils 2026 Dual-Match Schedule

ORLANDO - After a record-breaking season highlighted by a program-best ITA ranking, the  Knights’ first-ever appearance at the ITA National Indoors, and a historic run to the NCAA  Sweet 16, the UCF men’s tennis team has officially unveiled its 2026 dual match schedule, as announced by Head Coach Lloyd Bruce Burgess. 

The Knights are set to battle 22 opponents across 23 matches this spring. The campaign  begins January 11 with a doubleheader at the USTA National Campus, once again serving as the stage for the season opener. Soon after, the Black and Gold will return to the site of  last year’s breakthrough at the ITA Kickoff Weekend, aiming to secure back-to-back bids to  the prestigious ITA National Indoor Championship. 

Following a challenging non-conference slate, UCF will launch into Big 12 play with three  consecutive home matches before traveling to Fort Worth for a showdown against their  Horned Frog foes. The regular season culminates with the Big 12 Tournament, hosted in  Orlando at the USTA National Campus, where the Knights will have the opportunity to  contend for the conference crown on their home courts. 

For the second straight year, UCF will begin its season with consecutive weekends of  doubleheaders as the Knights return to the courts this January. After opening play, the team  heads west to California for the ITA Kickoff Weekend, aiming to secure a coveted spot in the ITA National Indoor Championships for the second year in a row. 

Back in The City Beautiful, the Knights will square off against familiar foes in Florida and  Miami, marking the first time the Black and Gold will face both programs since defeating  them in last year’s NCAA Tournament. The non-conference slate continues with a true road  test against South Florida, before rounding out with a series of challenging matchups  against competition throughout the Southeast region.

The Knights’ Big 12 campaign features a balanced slate of eight matches with four at home  and four on the road. The latter half of the season begins on home courts at USTA National  Campus against Texas Tech on March 13. The conference opener is followed by back-to-back home battles with BYU and Utah giving the Black and Gold an early chance to  establish momentum in front of their home crowd. 

The road stretch begins with a marquee matchup at TCU on March 27, quickly followed by  another Lone Star State contest at Baylor just two days later. UCF then returns home to  face its final home match of the regular season against Oklahoma State on April 2. The  Knights will head west to close out conference play taking on both Arizona and Arizona  State on the road.

With a mix of powerhouse programs and emerging rivals, the Knights’ conference slate promises high-stakes competition and sets the stage for a thrilling run toward the Big 12 Tournament in Orlando.

POSTSEASON

The Big 12 Tournament returns to the USTA National Campus, giving the Knights a chance  to battle for the conference crown on familiar home courts. The championship runs April  16-20, featuring three rounds of competition among the Big 12’s top eight teams. 

Should the Knights qualify, their postseason journey continues beginning on May 2 at a  designated NCAA regional site. With the potential to advance, UCF could once again  showcase its talent at the USTA National Campus this time as part of the NCAA  Tournament, which begins its historic 10-year run in Orlando.
