ORLANDO – All season long, it has been Clarence Awoudor making the key passes to help produce scoring chances for his teammates.

Through his first 14 matches of the 2025 regular season, the senior midfielder had registered a program single-season record 13 assists, a mark that also placed the Saint-Lo, France, native atop NCAA Division I soccer entering play Friday evening.

In authoring the latest chapter of his breakout senior campaign on a brisk Halloween night at the UCF Soccer Complex, it was Awoudor on the receiving end this time, scoring his first career brace to power the UCF men’s soccer team to a 3-1 victory over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

“I’m really happy, because those were two important goals. Those were moments we needed to score, and this extends our unbeaten streak to seven straight games, which is also important. It gives us a lot of confidence going to Marshall.”

Indeed, the Knights conclude the month of October without a loss, pushing their record over their last seven matches to 5-0-2 dating back to the squad’s 2-0 victory at South Carolina Oct. 4.

It represents the first full undefeated calendar month in a normal fall season for the program since the 2019 Knights went 6-0-1 in September and followed with a 5-0-1 showing in October. The Black and Gold also produced a 4-0 mark in March of 2021, accompanied by a 3-0-1 record in April of 2021, with the 2020 season pushed to the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

UCF’s active seven-match unbeaten streak also marks the longest such stretch for the program since the spring 2021 slate, when the team went nine consecutive contests without a loss from March 13–May 2 with an 8-0-1 record in that span.

“We’re very excited for our senior group that they’ve ended their time on our home pitch on another high note. We’re also happy to get three points and extend our season, officially clinching a spot in the Sun Belt Conference tournament. It’s important to win and keep that streak going.”

With three more points in the Sun Belt table secured Friday evening as well, the Knights maintain hold of their standing in fifth place, moving to 7-5-3 on the season and 4-2-2 in conference play (14 points) with one match remaining in the regular season.

At the center of it all Friday night was Awoudor, who with his first career multi-goal showing regained the team lead in points (23) and clinched his 11th match this season with at least one point, as well as his eighth contest with at least two points.

He first deposited a feed from teammate Malick Thiaw into the back of the Chanticleers net with a strong one-touch strike in the 19th minute of action, giving UCF a 1-0 lead early in the match.

Through Awoudor did not officially appear on the scoresheet for UCF’s second tally of the night, he again helped make it happen. He attempted a similar strike off a pass from Claudel N’goubou in the 31st minute, a shot that was saved but not corralled by the Coastal Carolina keeper.

A subsequent attempt by the netminder to keep the ball out of the net trickled back out toward N’goubou, who swiftly doubled his team’s advantage with his fourth score of the fall and first game-winner as a Knight.

“There are a lot of reasons to be pleased with tonight’s performance. We were really dangerous in a lot of moments, and we continue to improve in that regard. There’s a lot of confidence within the group, and we took control of the game and did well in possession.”

Scott Calabresehead coach

Coastal Carolina managed to halve UCF’s advantage in the 64th minute, a goal that was quickly answered by Awoudor once again in the 74th. He cashed in on a pass from N’goubou just as the latter crossed the end line and slid through the perimeter boards.

Awoudor’s first career brace also lifted the midfielder into second in the Sun Belt Conference in total points following Friday’s action, trailing only No. 19 West Virginia’s Marcus Caldeira’s 25.
