by Ben Huber

ORLANDO - The 2025-26 UCF women's basketball season commences on Monday, November 3, at Addition Financial Arena, as the Knights are set to welcome Bethune-Cookman for their second season-opening contest with the Wildcats in three years.

With college athletics ushering in a new era of roster construction, head coach Sytia Messer and her staff welcomed in eight transfers and three freshmen to join a trio of returning pieces from last season's squad. With the campaign just days away, below is a breakdown of the portal additions that will suit up in Black and Gold this campaign:

Kristol

Kristol Ayson | Guard | Fifth Year | Tacoma, Washington | Tulsa

Fifth-year guard Kristol Ayson from Tulsa hopes to make an immediate impact in her last year of eligibility. Ayson led all Tulsa players in shooting percentage last year at 44 percent. Originally from Tacoma, Washington, Ayson has been all over the country, starting her college career at Arizona Western in 2021, then transferring to Jacksonville State before joining the Golden Hurricane a year ago.

Jacorriah

Jacorriah Bracey | Guard/Forward | Fifth Year | Drew, Mississippi | Southern Miss

Jacorriah Bracey is a graduate guard from Drew, Mississippi, entering her first season playing outside The Magnolia State. Bracey came out of high school as a 5-star recruit and was named the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year in 2020. She chose to stay local, playing at Ole Miss, where she saw limited but impactful involvement, averaging 9.2 minutes a night across two years. After two successful seasons at Southern Miss, she comes to Orlando hoping to continue her steady improvement.

Logan

Logan Reed | Guard/Forward | R-Freshman | Godley, Texas | Texas A&M Corpus Christi

Redshirt freshman Logan Reed comes to UCF after sitting out her lone year at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Reed earned all-state honors in Texas after two stellar years in high school. Reed looks to gain meaningful experience in her first year playing in a power conference.

Cox

Kanyanna Cox | Guard | Sophomore | Tenaha, Texas | SMU

Sophomore guard Kayanna Cox played one season at SMU before transferring to the Knights this season. She is a formidable defensive force and an efficient shooter, consistently using her speed to cause problems for opposition offenses. Cox earned an array of honors in high school, including an all-state selection, district MVP, and district blocker of the year.

BENSON

Audreonia Benson | Guard | Junior | Trusville, Miss. | Pensacola State College

Junior guard Audreonia Benson arrives at UCF after two years of juco ball at Pensacola State College. Benson operated with an impressive level of consistency, averaging 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, two steals and 1.6 assists per game her freshman year. Last year, she was second on the team in total scoring and hopes to carry that success into her first season playing Division 1 basketball.

JAS

Jasmynne Gibson | Forward | Sophomore | Orlando, Florida | UNF

The hometown hero Jasmynne Gibson returns to Orlando after averaging 8.6 points and 7.6 rebounds at North Florida last year, securing a nod to the All-Atlantic Sun Freshman Team. Gibson attended Colonial High School, where she was part of one of the best teams in the state, making the state championship and scoring over 1,000 points throughout her career. Messer hopes to utilize Gibson’s 6’1 frame at forward to help control the glass this year.

Sav

Savannah Scott | Center | R-Sophomore | Conway, Arkansas | Auburn

The 6-4 Auburn transfer, Savannah Scott, looks to get back on the court after starting her college career hot, tallying 50 combined points in her first three games with Auburn. Scott started 19 games her freshman year and hopes to benefit from a change of scenery after redshirting her sophomore year. With Scott being the tallest player on the team, they hope to utilize her size in the post and help defend the dynamic paint scorers in the Big 12.

Leah

Leah Harmon | Guard | Sophomore | Paterson, New Jersey | Miami

Miami transfer and former five-star recruit Leah Harmon joins the Knights after primarily coming off the bench for the Hurricanes as a freshman. Harmon was the ninth-ranked point guard in the 2024 class, averaging 14.4 points, 4.2 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game at IMG Academy. Harmon is known for her ability to find open teammates and create space with elite ball-handling, while also proving to be a scorer at all three levels.
