ESTERO, Florida - Following a difficult opening day, which saw the Knights shoot even-par through two rounds, the UCF men’s golf team bounced back on Tuesday with a 14-under-par performance to jump multiple spots on the leaderboard, concluding the West Bay Collegiate in sixth.
Tuesday’s charge was led by Chase Haygood, brushing off difficult opening rounds to return to form and card a 66 (six-under-par). He was followed closely by Hans Risvaer, who has now placed among the top-20 in back-to-back tournaments, scoring a 67 (five-under-par) to conclude in 19th-place with an overall four-under-par showing.
UCF’s highest finisher was sophomore Camden Goldknopf, continuing his strong form with another consistent day, tallying his third-consecutive round under-par to propel the Florida native into 13th (208, eight-under-par).
Clemente Silva concluded the competition in 34th with an even-par 216 over the three rounds. Sophomore Jakub Hejlek produced his best round of the tournament with an even-par outing to finish in 63rd.
Playing as an individual, Palmer Haynes placed 51st overall after a one-over-par final round. The Black and Gold found success on Par 5s across the two days, ranking third in the field with a scoring average of 4.55.
