Men's Soccer Falls to No. 10 West Virginia, 1-0

ORLANDO – The UCF men’s soccer team limited the high-powered West Virginia offense to a single score, but fell in a closely-fought contest to the No. 10 Mountaineers, 1-0, at the UCF Soccer Complex Sunday night.

West Virginia, a squad that entered the evening atop the Sun Belt in scoring offense (2.63 goals per game), assists per game (3.00), corner kicks per game (6.63), points per game (8.25), and shots per game (14.75), managed just a single tally in the 50th minute of action Sunday, thanks in part to a strong showing by senior goalkeeper Juanvi Muñoz.

The Valencia, Spain, native recorded his second consecutive match with at least four saves, and his third such contest this season while yielding one or fewer goals for the fourth time this year overall.

His offensive corps, though, was unable to crack the West Virginia defense, mustering a season low four shot attempts without a try on goal.
