Men's Golf Places Seventh at Island Resort Collegiate

HARRIS, Michigan - Junior Clemente Silva led the UCF men's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the Island Resort Collegiate to commence its 2025-26 campaign.

After a brilliant second round, where the Knights shot their best score (270) since 2023 on a par 72 course, UCF shot four-under-par, carding a 284 to replicate its finish in Michigan from a season ago.

Silva placed 18th overall after his third consecutive round shooting under par. With three birdies on the day and 12 throughout the tournament, the Chilean native will look to continue a strong start to the season in the coming weeks.

After a disappointing first round, which saw Hans Risvaer shoot six-over-par, he flipped his weekend around with a pair of great performances down the stretch. Carding a 66 to conclude Sunday, the junior continued to drop his score with a 68 on the final 18 holes, finishing the weekend three-under-par.

Chase Haygood stayed steady with an even-par outing this afternoon to conclude the tournament two-under-par, while freshman Jakub Hejlek's one-over-par performance in the final round still kept him at three-under-par on the weekend.
