Dear Knight Nation,
When we launched Mission XII in March of 2022, our goal was clear: to strategically position UCF Athletics for long-term success as we transitioned into the Big 12 Conference. That path has been marked by growth and progress, made possible by the tireless efforts of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and, of course, the generosity of Knight Nation.
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together. From record-setting academic performances to landmark revenue achievements and a growing presence across the Big 12, each milestone speaks to the vision we share and the possibilities ahead.
As we reflect on this phase of our journey, I often say we’ve reached “the end of the beginning.” Mission XII was never the finish line: it was the foundation of our entry into a new conference. We have more resources than ever to be successful. Now, we turn the page to what is next.
We’ve officially started the process of shaping our next strategic plan. This will be a bold and comprehensive roadmap to guide UCF Athletics through the rapidly evolving landscape of college sports. From a facilities master plan and fan experiences to student-athlete success and championship goals; this new plan will help define the next era of Unleashing Potential. We look forward to sharing more details with you in the months ahead and, once again, invite you to be a part of the process.
As we look ahead, I encourage you to take a moment to review our original Mission XII goals and the measurable progress we’ve made since 2022. You’ll find some key highlights below, which reflect just how far we’ve come.
Thank you for being on this journey with us. We’ve come a long way, and we’re just getting started.
Go Knights, Charge On!

Mission XII Objectives & Progress Report
To fully support our student-athletes in their NIL endeavors
- As we enter the new Rev Share Era of college sports, we are confident in our proactive approach and are fully committed to the maximum allowable of $20.5 million for FY26.
- Special thanks to Tom McNamara, Kevin Wydra and The Kingdom NIL donors for their leadership and generosity.
- We recently launched the Competitive Success Fund, which is integrated into the ChargeOn Fund. This initiative strengthens the department’s ability to recruit, retain, and develop student-athletes as they compete at the highest levels.
To provide championship-caliber services to our student-athletes in their educational and career pursuits
- We’ve committed $3 million toward 74 new scholarships, with 60 percent designated for women’s sports.
- UCF student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom, setting a department-record 3.47 GPA this spring, with 79% earning a 3.0 or higher. It also marked the 35th consecutive semester with at least a 3.0 department-wide GPA.
- We have achieved a graduation success rate of 94 percent, which puts us among the Top 4 schools in the Big 12.
- Our student-athlete support staff, which included sports medicine, psychology, performance, nutrition, academic support, compliance and facilities, earned an overall 9.3 out of 10 satisfaction rating in our latest year-end survey of our student-athletes. This is a testament to the level of commitment and care here at UCF.
- UCF continues to guarantee 100 percent job placement or graduate school admission for every graduating student-athlete, an unparalleled commitment in today’s collegiate athletics landscape.
To position UCF Athletics to win conference and national championships and successfully transition into the Big 12
- Our teams continue to compete at a high level while building the foundation needed for long-term success.
- Since joining the Big 12, UCF has made 10 NCAA team appearances across all sports, more than Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, and West Virginia, and tied with Kansas State and Utah.
- This past season, women’s tennis and rowing captured UCF’s first and second Big 12 championships, respectively.
- We remain committed to reaching our goal of winning conference championships and continuing to build the foundation for sustained success.
To increase the UCF Athletics operating budget to be in the top half upon entry into the Big 12, then target top third, and maximize self-generated revenue
- In 2022, we set a goal to generate approximately $20 million in new self-generated annual revenue, in addition to the increased distribution from the Big 12 Conference to bring our operating budget to $100 million. Thanks to another record-breaking performance in FY25 of self-generated revenue from ticket sales, fundraising, sponsorships, and merchandise licensing, that goal has been exceeded and UCF’s operating budget in 2025-26 will be an estimated $121 million.
- We’ve already secured $266.5 million in cash and commitments since the launch of the initiative in March of 2022, which includes the $90 million commitment from Orange County’s Tourism Development Tax funding and more than $28 million committed towards the Hagle Football Gateway project.
