Women's Tennis Announces 2025 Fall Schedule

by Aiden Kocol

ORLANDO - Coming off its Big 12 title-winning campaign, the UCF women’s tennis team has announced its 2025 fall schedule as head coach Bryan Koniecko and his squad look to gear up for another historic season.

The fall season will begin in Cary, N.C., from Sept. 20–27 at the ITA All-American Championships, where select Knights will have their first chance to earn a spot in the NCAA Individual Championships. Meanwhile, other members will head west to Waco, Texas, to compete in the Big 12 Individual Tournament, with select players and doubles teams vying for an individual Big 12 tennis title over multiple rounds of play.

October will take the Knights back to the Sunshine State as they head to Jacksonville to compete in the 14th annual Bedford Cup from Oct. 3-5. Hosted by UNF, the competition features the state's top programs and players in a weekend-long tournament of singles and doubles matches.

On Oct. 16-20, the Black & Gold will have their next shot at a place in the NCAA Individual Championships back on their USTA home courts at ITA Southeast Regionals, the first southeast regional event to be hosted at the complex since 2021.

Following regionals, any qualifying Knights will head to Baton Rouge, La., for one last shot to punch their ticket to the NCAA Individual Championship on Nov. 6-9, while the rest of the team will circle back to Jacksonville for the UNF Invite on those dates.

As part of the two-year pilot program approved in 2023 by the NCAA Division I Competition Oversight Committee, the Individual Championships will once again be held during the fall season. Scheduled for Nov. 18–23, the NCAA Individual Tournament will wrap up the fall season and will be hosted at UCF’s USTA facility.

Koniecko’s squad looks strong heading into the fall, bolstered by two experienced transfers joining six close-knit returners. Vladislava Andreevskaya, a W15 Monastir doubles champion, arrives from a Russian university and brings a top-600 women’s and top-150 junior singles rankings, serving as an asset in both singles and doubles. Daryna Shoshyna comes to Orlando from Northern Arizona, where she was named Big Sky Player of the Year in 2025 after a dominant 9-1 season on the top two courts, and will be key in helping fill the gap left by senior standout Sophia Biolay

Looking towards the returners of the group, sophomore Aya El Aouni and senior Jantje Tilbueger will be instrumental in carrying the Black and Gold’s dominance into the new season. El Aouni served as a staple player on courts one and two last season, having boasted a 14-6 singles record as a freshman; she was tabbed Southeast Regional Rookie of the Year and will remain a force in the Knights' front courts. Tilbueger, although having missed much of last season due to injury, will bring experience and leadership to the squad. Having served as one of the group's team captains in the 2024-25 season, she has been a key piece to the Koniecko’s team since 2022.
