ORLANDO – On Thursday, August 14, construction workers placed the ceremonial steel beam on the University of Central Florida Roth Tower addition to FBC Mortgage Stadium, marking the project’s official “topping out” to finalize structural assembly.
The topping out is an important construction milestone that typically marks the halfway point of the project. From here, the team will work on enclosing the project and then fitting out the interior. Barton Malow is managing the project's construction.
When finished, the 85,000-SF four-level Roth Tower will significantly expand UCF’s current club level space, improving the gameday experience and creating a premier year-round event space in East Orange County.
“Barton Malow is excited to support the University of Central Florida and UCF Athletics on this project,” says Vice President Len Moser. “The premium spaces and expanded suite options will help make gamedays even more special and create a unique environment for events and activities in the football off-season as well.”
Specifically, the Roth Tower addition will expand club space from 4,400 SF to 15,650 SF, a 256% enhancement. In addition to 28 expanded suites, 34 new outdoor sky suites will provide more shade to the seating bowl, allowing for a more comfortable viewing environment for all fans.
“The topping out milestone is a symbol of progress, a time to honor the commitment and partnerships that have helped shape this project,” says Barton Malow Project Manager Zach Beiler.
The project broke ground in December 2024 and is expected to be completed ahead of the 2026 UCF football season.
