by Aiden Kocol

ORLANDO - The UCF women’s cross country team has unveiled its 2025 season schedule, headlined by a three-meet regular season slate and a trip to the Big 12 Championships.

The 2025 campaign marks assistant coach Bryan Harmon’s third season leading the Knights’ distance squad, having taken the helm when the team joined the Big 12.

This year’s squad will be guided by 12 returning Knights, as they welcome two freshmen and one transfer on board.

The Black and Gold will kick off their season on Aug. 29 in Jacksonville, with a first-time appearance in the Florida Intercollegiate hosted by North Florida. Following the in-state competition, the Knights will head to Huntsville, Ala., on Sept. 12 to compete in the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park hosted by Jax State.

For the second consecutive season, the squad is set to wrap up the regular season campaign at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill., on Oct. 17. In 2024, the Knights ended the season emphatically at the 6k with five out of the nine racers recording a new personal best, while two finished in the top 100.

The Knights will then embark on their first of two post-season meets in Lawrence, Kansas, competing in the Big 12 Championships on Oct. 31, before making their second trip to Huntsville on Nov. 14 to appear in the NCAA South Region Championships.

Qualified athletes will then compete at the NCAA National Championship on Nov. 22 in Columbia, Mo.
