ORLANDO – UCF football offensive lineman Paul Rubelt has been nominated for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, as announced by Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association this week.

A record-breaking 197 nominees for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, the highest in the award’s 34-year history. College football student-athletes and head coaches from all levels of the sport are recognized for their commitment to community service and leadership beyond the gridiron.

Rubelt has been remarkable on and off the field in his five seasons at UCF. He’s posted a GPA greater than 3.8 throughout his time as a Knight and was AAC All-Academic team from 2020-22 and Academic All-Big 12 Team in 2024. The Frankfurt-Oder, Germany native serves as the president of UCF’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), helping make decisions on how Knights across all sports get involved in campus and the community.

Rubelt’s energy off the field is infectious, showing up with a smile wherever he goes. He’s been heavily involved in the community, putting in more than 50 hours of community service over the past year while helping SAAC achieve 914 hours as a unit and the football team to 979 hours.

Some of Rubelt’s community involvement includes delivering food to the homeless and working food drives, wrapping gifts for underprivileged children, working with Team Impact and helping the UCF community get signed up to vote. He also was a part of visiting patients at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, helping them design UCF helmet logos for the 2024 spring game and eventually UCF’s Sep. 7, 2024 game against Sam Houston State to recognize Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Last season, Rubelt graded out at 78.7% in pass blocking, second best among starters. He helped UCF finish fifth nationally in rushing offense, leading the Big 12 at 248.1 yards per game. He also paved the way for a Knights offense that was second in the conference and 14th in the nation in total offense, averaging 447.8 yards per contest.

The final roster of 23 award recipients announced in September will bring together 11 players from the NCAA FBS, 11 players from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Divisions II, III and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as well as one honorary head coach. A voting panel of former Good Works Team members, head coaches and journalists select the team roster based on outstanding leadership on and off the field.
