ORLANDO - Set to join a talented squad of underclassmen who showed waves of potential during the 2025 dual-match campaign, the UCF women’s tennis team has signed Big Sky Players of the Year Daryna Shoshyna.

The Ukraine native will move her talents cross country from Northern Arizona, where she produced a dominating three seasons with the Lumberjacks that was capped with the unanimous title of the conference’s MVP after going 17-1 and boasting a perfect 8-0 record in Big Sky matches.

Shoshyna has featured at each of the front two courts, holding down one with an impressive 9-1 record. An overall tally of 40-15 in singles contests with the Lumberjacks, the incoming Knight will bolster UCF’s options at the top of the lineup.

Also offering a 10-5 doubles record in 2025, the rising senior will have multiple Knights to pair with this fall ahead of the 2026 season.

Shoshyna has consistently been a clutch force for Northern Arizona, clinching ranked and postseason wins throughout the past three campaigns. During an incredible freshman season in 2023, she aided in the squad’s Big Sky Tournament run with wins in the final two rounds.
