Track and Field Opens Action at East Coast Relays

JACKSONVILLE, Florida - A light day on the track for the Knights saw just three events commence action at North Florida’s annual east coast relays. Each squad was well represented, as Janiah Pulliam led the way with a top-10 finish in the 200m.

The lone field event of the day for UCF came in the long jump, as Hayley Manners, making just her second appearance in Black and Gold, placed 17th with a 5.38m mark. Sophomore Alexis Waller followed closely behind with her 5.27m performance.

The aforementioned half-lap was yet another highlight for Pulliam. While the North Carolina native didn’t set a personal best, another sub-24 display (23.73) is a strong sign ahead of the Big 12 Outdoor Championships later this month.

A pair of top-10 finishes concluded the night, with Abby Clements leading the charge in eighth (17:35.08), while freshman Avery Latto followed closely behind in 10th (17:41.82)

The Knights will be back in action tomorrow for a packed day of competition, beginning with the 100m hurdles prelims at 10:30 a.m.
