Multiple Knights Run Top-10 Marks to Open Tom Jones Memorial

GAINESVILLE, Florida - The UCF track and field team boasted multiple impressive times to open action at the Tom Jones Memorial on Friday, with top-10 performances within the meet and the record books.

Ese Awusa and Aaliyah Gipson commenced competition in the 200m collegiate race, with the former leading the charge in 16th after crossing the line at 24.10. The freshman followed in 37th with her time of 24.88.

SMU transfer Jasmine Jolly tallied her second consecutive personal record in the 400m hurdles, running 1:02 flat to place 14th. 

In the first event of the night session, sophomore Janiah Pulliam continued her impressive breakout season with yet another personal best in the 200m, clocking a 23.22 in sixth to reclaim her 10th-place spot all-time in UCF history.

Another exciting second-year Knight, Y’Vette Harris, followed suit in the 400m hurdles invite, going sub-one minute for the second consecutive race to secure the program’s eighth-best time of 59.15.

In the Friday finale, three Knights embarked on the 1500m, as Kendall Hughes led the way in 17th with an impressive 4:36.01. Abby Clements followed in 20th with a personal-best 4:37.78, while Isabella Richardson crossed the line right behind her teammate in 21st with her time of 4:41.50.

UCF will be back for an early morning wake-up Saturday as the 100m hurdles will begin competition at 9:30 a.m.
