ORLANDO - The UCF rowing team has sustained its spot in the Pocock CRCA poll sitting at No. 15 on this week’s rankings.
The crew has now been in the top 25 for five weeks and the top 15 for two consecutive weeks. They continue their streak of being the only Big 12 program to appear on the coaches' poll.
The Knights will have a few weeks off following a successful spring slate so far. Beginning the season with a duel against Jacksonville, all but one boat was able to reach the finish first. The next race the crew competed in was the Sarasota 2K where the Black and Gold swept all races to take first place. They competed against several ranked opponents in Alabama and North Carolina.
The most recent regatta the team participated in was the Rocky Top Invitational where UCF was able to compete against North Carolina once again, as well as ranked opponents Tennessee and Duke. The crew had a stellar performance, topping then No. 14 Duke in three of four heat races as well as in the I Eight Grand Final the following day.
The Knights will look to take on ranked opponents Texas, Stanford and Oklahoma at their next race, the Longhorn Invitational. The crew will travel to Austin, Texas on April 25 and 26 for the first time since 2018 to participate in the two-day event.
