Women's Tennis Climbs Back to 23rd in Latest ITA Rankings

ORLANDO - After a two-week stretch out of the top-25, the UCF women’s tennis team returns to the field, slotting in at No. 23 this week. Released Tuesday afternoon, the Knights authored a 21-place jump after sitting at No. 44, progress in large part due to a 4-3 triumph over No. 25 Oklahoma State on Sunday.

While a meeting between two teams picked among the top three in the Big 12 preseason poll went in the Knights’ favor, UCF will return to the USTA National Campus for a meeting with No. 15 Baylor and No. 40 TCU.

Texas Tech continued to pace the conference as it remained at No. 13, while Arizona State sit just outside the top-25 at No. 26.

Two catalysts for UCF's strong form also made sizeable jumps in the singles rankings, as El Aouni checked at 83rd, her third-consecutive inclusion, while Biolay reamained in the top-100 at No. 87.

The tandem have 16 wins between each other in singles play and have recently caught strong form in doubles play, taking both of their duels against Kansas State and Oklahoma State.

Each has played a massive role in the Knights' front-three dominance in singles, as the Black and Gold hold a remarkable 25-1 record on the courts one through three.
