ORLANDO - Securing its sixth sweep of the season, the No. 19 UCF women’s tennis team took care of business in its penultimate home contest Sunday afternoon, defeating West Virginia to keep pace atop the Big 12.

Authoring a similar doubles lineup to Friday’s triumph against Cincinnati, the Knights (17-2, 9-1) dropped just five games to grab the match's first point. The French tandem of Sophia Biolay and Jade Psonka tallied their first collegiate win together opposite Misha Kucharova and Laura Villanueva, 6-2.

With courts one and three eyeing down the clincher, anchors Olivia Bergler and Donatella Guarnieri were first to the prize as they secured their second win on the jump with a strong outing against West Virginia’s (7-14, 1-9) Maja Dodik and Lyla Byers, 6-1.

The 30th-ranked duo of Olivia Lincer and Hannah Rylatt were up 5-2 on court one before the duel went abandoned.

With two first sets incomplete, 110th-ranked Lincer took care of her court-one bout in just over an hour, defeating Mille Haagensen, 6-0, 6-1. The sophomore has now tallied double-digit win totals in singles and doubles for the first time in her young career.

Playing her sixth match of the season on court three, Bergler remained unbeaten with her fifth victory and 12th overall, besting Kucharova in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. The freshman remains second on the team in wins, showing composure wherever she’s displayed in the singles lineup.

After going unfinished in her last six matches on court four, Psonka charged her way back into the win column with her fourth clincher of the season, defeating Dodik, 6-3, 6-1.

85th-ranked Biolay was on the verge of forcing a rubber-set on two before going abandoned, protecting her team-leading 16-match unbeaten run. Rylatt was embarking on a third set of her own, while Guarnieri was amidst a second-set bout after taking the first in a tiebreak.
