ORLANDO - The UCF women’s tennis team is slated for an opening weekend in Big 12 play as it starts a nearly two-month-long conference slate. The Knights will kick off their Big 12 campaign by traveling to Kansas State this Friday to face off against the No. 73 Wildcats at 5 p.m. ET. The Black and Gold will then make the short trip south for a meeting with No. 25 Oklahoma State on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
LAST TIME OUT
Despite starting the season with seven straight wins, the UCF women's tennis team lost a match for the first time this season with a 4-2 result against Florida Atlantic last Friday in a difficult away match at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
However, the squad quickly bounced back, finding their groove early on against Penn on Sunday. UCF concluded its non-conference play with a 6-1 victory over the Quakers at the USTA National Campus. The Knights proved their skill in both doubles and singles, sweeping the opening point and securing the first five sets in singles and four straight-set triumphs.

THE OPPONENTS
KANSAS STATE
K-State has started their season going 3-4, which has secured them a ranking at No. 73. The Knights last faced off against the Wildcats last season in their inaugural season in the Big 12 conference. UCF dominated the match, coming out victorious 4-1 over K-State.
The squads are set to face off once more on Friday at the Mike Goss Tennis Stadium at 5 p.m.
OKLAHOMA STATE
After facing Kansas State on Friday, the Knights will make their way to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to compete against the No. 25 Cowgirls. OSU women's tennis has gone 6-5 in the 2025 season so far, plagued by a recent two-game losing streak. On Sunday, the Cowgirls faced a grueling match against No. 9 Ohio State, where they were swept 6-0.
The Black and Gold have faced Oklahoma State five times since 2019, and the Cowgirls currently lead 3-2. UCF is hoping to build on their current momentum when they face OSU this Sunday at 2 p.m.
