ORLANDO - The No. 20 UCF women's tennis will strive to better its record-breaking 7-0 start as they make the short trip south to play 50th-ranked Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on Friday before returning home to play Penn in a Sunday afternoon matinee.
A 5 p.m. first serve against the Owls will mark the 41st meeting between the two programs and the first since 2021. Penn and UCF will match up at noon in Orlando, having last met in 2019 in a 5-2 Knights win.
LAST TIME OUT
The Knights swept their doubleheader this past weekend in a dominant showing against Stetson and Air Force.
Against the Hatters, the Knights scored the doubles point with ease. Junior Jantje Tilbuerger returned to the court after being sidelined with an injury, quickly finding her rhythm. The German native and her partner Hannah Rylatt clinched the doubles point for the Knights, before Tilbuerger continued her momentum into singles, taking her bout, 6-4, 6-0.
The team then squared off against Air Force, eager to defend their winning streak. The Black and Gold battled back to win the doubles point and continued with a consistent singles showing. Senior Sophia Biolay completed the Knights' second sweep of the day, finishing her match 6-3, 6-0.
