MELBOURNE, Fla.- The UCF women’s golf team concluded the final day of play in ninth place at the Moon Golf Invitational held Tuesday afternoon at the Suntree Country Club with a team score of 885 (+21).
The Black and Gold faced a tough three days of competition with the eight teams finishing above them ranked in the top 25. Florida State ended the tournament in first place and was the only team to finish the tournament under par (864, -2).
Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham led the Knights, improving two spots from the second round to finish tied for 19th with a total score of 219 (+3). The junior carded two birdies on holes 10 and 12 in the third round to end the day even with a score of 72.
Molly Smith was next on the leaderboard, accounting for three birdies in the third round to record a 74 (+2). Smith finished the tournament tied for 27th with a 221 (+5).
Mila Jurine concluded the invitational with a 222 (+6) tying for 30th, going three-over in the final round with a 75.
Katie Poots rounded out the final day of play one-over-par with a 73 to tie for 58th with a 227 (+11).
One Kashima finished the tournament tied for 70th, carding a 79 (+7) in the final round and a 230 (+14) over three rounds.
The Knights will return to the green March 7-9 for the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.
