MELBOURNE, Fla. - The UCF women’s golf team sits in second place following the first round of the Moon Golf Invitational, carding a three-over 291 at Suntree Country Club.
The Black and Gold started the day strong on the back nine with eight birdies before fading away on the front nine to card just two birdies.
Following the first round, Florida State is the lone leader with a 286 (-2) team score.
Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham helped lead UCF to its second-place finish, recording three birdies on the day and shooting one under for a score of 71 to tie for third.
Mila Jurine and Molly Smith were the next Knights on the leaderboard each carding a 72 (E). Both players had three birdies apiece.
One Kashima ended the day tied in 47th with a score of 76 (+4).
Katie Poots completed the first round four over (79) and tied for 78th.
UCF will tee off in the second round of the Moon Golf Invitational on Monday at 9:40 a.m. and are paired with Texas A&M and Florida State.
