AMES, Iowa – The UCF women’s basketball team dropped a 90-56 decision against Iowa State Saturday afternoon in the Hilton Coliseum.
The Cyclones (15-7, 6-3 Big 12) lead with 42 rebounds and 29 assists meanwhile the Knights (7-11, 0-8) recorded four blocks on the day.
Iowa State opened up the floodgates with a 13-0 start until Nevaeh Brown put the Knights on the board with a jumper followed by a three. Brown rallied the Knights with seven points, but the Cyclones outscored the Black and Gold 26-12 in the first quarter.
The 6-0 run for Iowa State in the middle of the second quarter assisted it in growing the lead. The Cyclones headed into halftime with a 47-27 lead.
Ally Stedman came out of the locker room with a three-pointer to ignite the Black and Gold to a 10-0 run but Iowa State answered back with a 12-0 run. Stedman led the Knights to a perfect 2-2 from beyond the arc in the third quarter. Iowa State continued its scoring ways ending the third, 67-42.
UCF connected things early on in the fourth quarter with a 7-0 push although the Cyclones tacked on a 9-0 run and ended the game with a 90-56 victory.
Brown led the team with 23 points while Stedman joined her in double digits with 10. Adeang Ring tallied a career-high 11 rebounds and three blocks. Achol Akot dished out six assists and two steals.
The Knights head back to Orlando for a two-game stint facing off with No. 25/23 Baylor Wednesday, January 29 at 7 p.m.
