UCF Dance Medals in Hip Hop for First Time in Program History

by Justin Wilson

Looking to make history, the UCF spirit teams did just that as the dance team medaled in the hip hop finals for the first time in program history. After scoring a 96.3 in the semifinals to earn the fourth-best score heading into the finals session, the Knights were nearly perfect in finals with a 100.03 raw score and a 95.27 event score to claim third place.

The finish marked the second consecutive year that UCF has recorded a program best, surpassing the fifth-place finish in 2024. The Black and Gold ended behind UNLV (97.76) and San Diego State (95.6) in hip hop, while finishing ahead of conference mate Cincinnati and powerhouse LSU.

In coed cheer finals, UCF earned its 26th top-five finish with an 89.5. Alabama won the championship wit a 94.8, edging South Florida (94.6) by two-tenths of a point.

The Knights were the only team to finish among the top five in D1A coed cheer and either jazz or hip hop. UCF and Kentucky were the only two schools to make the finals in D1A coed cheer and hip hop.
