Four Knights Feature in ITA Preseason Rankings; El Aouni Fifth-Highest Newcomer

ORLANDO – The excitement for a brand-new collegiate tennis season has started thanks to the release of the ITA Collegiate Tennis National Preseason Rankings. Four Knights found their names on the list, meaning they have the most ranked players out of all the teams in the Big 12. For the full rankings (singles and doubles), click here.  

Following a season in which she recorded a team-leading 14-4 singles record, earned a career-high singles ranking of No. 57, and was named All-Big 12 First Team, senior Sophia Biolay tops the list for the Knights. The sensation from Reims, France was ranked No. 35. 

Newcomer Aya El Aouni was slotted in the list at No. 87. and was tabbed the fifth-ranked newcomer in the nation. The Moroccan is currently ranked No. 612 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings, a career-high for her. She achieved a 64-33 record in WTA matches and won three singles titles (Two in Antalya, Turkey and one in Heraklion, Greece). 

Coming off a season in which she was named the 2024 Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Olivia Lincer sits at No. 92 on the list. The former No. 5 prospect from Poland recorded a 7-10 singles record last season for the Knights and won her first pro singles title over the summer, the W15 Santo Domingo. 

After a 9-4 singles record, German Jantje Tilbuerger was the final Knight to make her way onto the list. The No. 111-ranked player recorded an 8-1 singles record in conference play last season, which was the best conference record on the team.
