ORLANDO - Following two marquee victories to open its conference campaign, the UCF men's tennis team climbed up the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Rankings, checking in at No. 24 in the nation.
The placement marks the first top-25 ranking for the program since February 22, 2022, as first-year head coach Lloyd Bruce-Burgess has transformed the squad in his first year at the helm. Following a debut triumph over Baylor in Waco, 4-0, the Knights split the first half of a four-match homestand, tallying a dramatic victory over Oklahoma State in the process, 4-3.
UCF is one of four Big 12 programs to feature in the top 25, following No. 3 TCU, No. 5 Texas, and No. 11 Oklahoma. The Knights are also the highest-ranked school in Florida, charging ahead of the 29th-ranked Gators and three more Sunshine State programs.
In 2022, the Knights were tabbed 20th following the opening weeks of the season, as today's recognition comes following a continued climb in the ITA Rankings with UCF consistently holding its weight in one of the country's top conferences.
