Former UCF men’s golfer Bobby Bai has secured his 2025 Asian Tour Card, after finishing the final stage of qualifying school tied for fourth at -17 Saturday at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand.
Bai put together five great rounds to progress through the final stage of qualifying school and earn his spot on the tour. He closed out play Saturday in the fifth round with a 67 (-4) after dropping in five birdies. In the fourth round, Bai shot a three-under-par 68 with consecutive birdies on holes eight and nine, 15 and 16.
He had his best showing of the stage in the third round with a 66 (-5) thanks to six birdies and only one bogey. Bai was three under in a bogey-free back nine with birdies on 10, 12 and 14.
Bai tallied a 68 in the second round and a 69 in the opening round of the final stage of qualifying school. He recorded 26 birdies across the five rounds with at least four in each round of the event.
Luis Carrera, who also starred for the Knights, advanced to the final stage of qualifying school and finished five under. He had an incredible start through the first two rounds with a 69 (-2) and a 67 (-4). The Mexico native carded a one-over-par 72 in the third round and fourth rounds, before concluding with a 70 on Saturday in the final round.
The Asian Tour’s new season starts with the Philippine Open at Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club, from January 23-26, and is followed the week after by the International Series India presented by DLF – where American superstar Bryson DeChambeau confirmed just yesterday he will play.
