Women's Tennis Announces 2025 Dual-Match Schedule

ORLANDO - After its inaugural appearance in the Big 12 Conference this past year, the UCF women’s tennis team is looking to build upon its momentum this upcoming season. This afternoon, director of tennis Bryan Koniecko released his squad’s 2025 schedule, which features 22 exciting matches leading up to the conference championship.

The team will kick off its season with a thrilling doubleheader against Georgia Southern and Bethune-Cookman at the USTA National Campus on January 19. Following the match, the Knights will travel cross-country and make their next appearance in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, hosted by UCLA, on January 24-27.

The women's conference slate will begin Feb. 28 when they travel to Kansas State. The following week, the Knights will match up against Oklahoma State at the Greenwood Tennis Center on March 2. The women's season will venture onto the stage when they travel to Baylor for the Big 12 Championships on April 16-20 at the Hurd Tennis Center.

The Knights will start their season with a doubleheader at home, facing off against Georgia Southern and Bethune Cookman at the USTA National Campus. The month of January will wrap up with a trip to Los Angeles for the ITA Kickoff Weekend, January 24-27.

The women’s team is set to play the host team, UCLA, on the first day of the competition. A win for the Knights could see them face either Washington or Columbia the following day.

The action-packed month of February features many thrilling matchups for the Knights. The team will start by facing off against in-state Florida teams, hosting FIU, and then traveling to Tampa to play USF. 

The team will end the month with their first Big 12 matchup of the season against Kansas State on February 28. When the Knights and Wildcats met earlier this year, UCF came out victorious finishing 4-1 in Orlando.

UCF and Oklahoma State, who met twice during the Knights’ inaugural Big 12 campaign, will open March in Stillwater, Oklahoma, following a pair of back-and-forth bouts in 2024. A four-match homestand awaits UCF as Baylor, TCU, Iowa State and Kansas will journey to Orlando.

A quick road trip west to both Colorado and Texas Tech will split the final three matches for the Knights at USTA National Campus against Cincinnati, West Virginia and Houston.

APRIL (Three Matches) - 1 Home | 2 Away

  • Apr. 12 - Utah (A) | 11 a.m.

The aforementioned home finale against Houston on April 5 will precede a final road swing to both Utah and BYU before UCF journeys to the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas for the Big 12 Championship from April 16-20.

If qualified, the Knights will begin NCAA tournament play on May 3, hosted at a selected regional site. The final eight teams standing will travel back to Waco for the quarterfinals and on.
