You only get one chance to make a first impression.
Former UCF men’s golfer Egor Eroshenko made the most of his PGA TOUR debut this week at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship held in Southampton, Bermuda, at the Port Royal Golf Couse.
After firing a one-over-par 72 in the first round, Eroshenko had a strong second round with a 67 (-4) to jump 22 spots on the player leaderboard and make the cut in his first PGA event.

With a three-under-par 139 following the first two rounds, the Russian is tied for 45th as one of the youngest players in the field and one of a handful making their debut.
In Friday’s round, Eroshenko dropped in four birdies and his first professional eagle on hole No. 7. He was five under on the front nine with birdies on No. 2, 3 and 5. Eroshenko was one of just seven players with an eagle on hole No. 7 in the second round.
Eroshenko opened the Butterfield Bermuda Championship with a 72 (+1) to sit in 67th place following the first day of action.
The final two rounds of the championship will be held Saturday and Sunday with play slated to begin at 6 a.m. each day.
