Eroshenko to Make History in PGA TOUR Debut This Week

by Justin Wilson

After winning an open qualifier last month, former UCF men’s golf standout Egor Eroshenko is set to make history this week as the first Russian to compete in a PGA TOUR event. Eroshenko will make his PGA TOUR debut at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship held Thursday, Nov. 14 through Sunday, Nov. 17, in Southampton, Bermuda, at the Port Royal Golf Couse.

Eroshenko will tee off at 12:09 p.m. ET Thursday on the par-71, 6,828-yard course.

Fans can follow the action live Thursday and Friday from 1-4 p.m. on Golf Channel, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday on the same network.

Eroshenko earned a spot in this week’s field by firing a six-under-par 66 at the open qualifier held in Championsgate, Florida, at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate's International Course last month. He had a bogey-free round with birdies on hole No. 3, 5, 8, 10, 12 and 18 to close out his day and win the qualifier by one stroke.

After graduating from UCF in May 2024, Eroshenko is one of the youngest players in the field and will make his PGA TOUR debut after just three months in his professional career.

Eroshenko led the Knights with a 72.4 stroke play average during the 2023-24 season, headlined by a fourth-place finish and career low 203 (-7) at the Gators Invitational. He also recorded a top-five finish in the ECU Intercollegiate, firing a 217 (-3).

Defending champion Camilo Villegas will compete with some of the best and brightest new stars on the PGA TOUR for an increased purse of $6.9 million. There are 36 players making their first appearance at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, including Eroshenko, Kevin Kisner, Scotland’s Martin Laird, Francesco Molinari and Brandt Snedeker.

Former champions in the field in addition to Villegas are 2022 champion Seamus Power and 2019 champion Brendon Todd. They are joined by Major champions Lucas Glover (2009 U.S. Open) and Molinari (2018 The Open).
