ORLANDO - Embarking on their second season leading the UCF men’s tennis program, head coach Lloyd Bruce-Burgess and Kareem Allaf has made yet another enticing signing, garnering the talent of young Brazilian Pedro Rodrigues.
The Belo Horizonte native ranks 21st among ITF juniors and boasts an impressive 13.00 UTR. Rodrigues also continues his quest to crack the top 1,000 in the ATP rankings, currently sitting at 1,020.
Playing across multiple prominent ITF events, he recently advanced to the finals of the M15 Cordoba and the quarterfinals at the M15 Asuncion. Rodrigues authors an impressive singles resume with multiple other notable displays across South America.
As a junior, he was tabbed the National Champion of Brazil in 2023 and represented his nation at the juniors Davis Cup. In February of that year, he was crowned the singles champion at the Lima J300. The future Knight also secured semifinalist honors at the Santa Cruz J300, Buenos Aires J200 and Santiago J200.
A dream for rising tennis players worldwide, Rodrigues got the opportunity to compete at the junior edition of the French Open and Wimbledon in 2023. He has also tallied titles at the Asuncion J300 and Punta Del Este J200 in doubles.
Rodrigues will join countryman Nicolas Oliveira who has had a remarkable fall slate for the Knights, along with the third South American on the roster alongside Argentina native Santiago Giamichelle.
