CORAL GABLES, Florida - In its second tournament of the fall campaign, the UCF women's tennis team completed two days of competition at the annual Bedford Cup, Florida's premier fall tournament, before officials ruled that play would be abandoned following Saturday afternoon play.

Hosted by Miami at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center, director of tennis Bryan Koniecko sent four athletes south to represent UCF. The short trip was highlighted by Donna Guarnieri, who secured her first tournament wins in Black and Gold after joining the team in the spring, advancing to the semifinals of flight two (green). The Florida native bested Stetson's Clelia Lobardi, 6-4, 6-4, before another straight-set triumph over South Florida's Karine Kulidjian, 6-1, 6-3.

Freshman Jade Psonka tallied her first collegiate win in the first round of flight one (blue), defeating FGCU's Francisca Vergara after dropping the first set, battling back to take the match, 4-6, 7-6(2), 1-0(5). Fellow newcomer Hannah Rylatt fell in the first round to Florida's Alicia Dudeney, 6-3, 6-2.
