ORLANDO - The UCF women’s golf team will compete in their second tournament of the season at the Illini Women’s Invitational. Hosted by Illinois, the 54-hole tournament will take place Oct. 7th and 8th at Medinah Country Club.
The Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah has been held annually since 2018 and this will be the Knight’s first year competing in it. UCF will join 14 other teams on the green: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Houston, Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana-Monroe, Maryland, North Texas, Ole Miss, Pepperdine, Texas Tech, Tulsa, and UCLA. The tournament will present a challenge for the Black and Gold with three of the competing teams in the top 25 (UCLA- 3, Auburn- 6, Pepperdine- 24).
The Knights lineup will feature Pimpisa "Sandwich" Sisutham, Molly Smith, Mila Jurine, One Kashima, Katie Poots and competing as an individual Jamie Camero.
The first day of the tournament is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will consist of 36 holes. The second day of play will start at 9:00 a.m. and only have 18 holes. Both days will be a shotgun start. The tournament will take place on Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 2. The course, originally built by Tom Bendelow in 1925, was restored in 2016 to its original look and strategy. The course is a par 72 and measures 6,412 yards.
