The Cougars finished 13th in the Big 12 in 2024, posting a 7-23 conference record and a 21-31 overall record. The visit to Provo will mark UCF baseball’s first ever visit to the state of Utah.
UCF’s Big 12 home opener will take place March 21-23 at John Euliano Park, where the Black and Gold will face off against Houston. The Cougars finished 12th in the Big 12 in 2024, finishing with a 7-21 conference record and a 26-28 overall record. UCF swept the series against UH in Houston a season ago.
After facing Houston, the Black and Gold will hit the road to take on Cincinnati March 28-30. Dating back to 2014, the Knights have an overall 21-15 series record against the Bearcats. The trip marks UCF baseball’s fifth visit to the Queen City. The Bearcats finished fifth in the Big 12 last season, posting a 17-13 conference record and 32-25 overall record.
UCF will return home after the trip, hosting Kansas April 4-6. The Jayhawks made it to the 2024 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship semifinal, but had their run come to a close by the hands of the top-seeded Oklahoma Sooners. A season ago, the Knights took the series over KU two games to one. Following the series, UCF will travel to face the Jayhawks’ in-state rivals, the Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan, Kansas, April 11-13. K-State finished sixth in the Big 12 last season, posting a 15-15 conference record and a 35-26 overall record. The Wildcats were one of two Big 12 teams to make it to make a Super Regional a season ago.
The Knights will then return home to host two Big 12 rivals in back-to-back weekends. The homestand will open up against TCU April 17-19. The Horned Frogs finished ninth in the Big 12 last season, recording a 14-16 record in the conference and a 33-26 overall record. Since joining the Big 12 in 2013, TCU has hoisted eight Big 12 titles, the most of any program in the conference.
The homestand continues with West Virginia visiting John Euliano Park April 25-27. WVU posted a 36-24 overall record and a 19-11 conference record, finishing fourth in the Big 12 last season. The Mountaineers too made a Super Regional last year. WVU’s visit to the 2024 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship marked its 13th appearance in the tournament and first Super Regional appearance in program history.
After the homestand, the Black and Gold head back on the road to face the reigning Big 12 tournament champion Oklahoma State Cowboys May 2-4 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Oklahoma State finished second in the Big 12 in 2024, boasting a 19-9 conference record and a 42-19 overall record. OK State made an appearance in the 2024 NCAA Tournament but had its run end in the Stillwater Regional to the Florida Gators. OSU has made a total of 49 visits to the NCAA Regionals and 20 trips to the College World Series. In five games played against one another a season ago, UCF came out on top, 3-2.
The road trip continues with UCF facing Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, May 9-11. Texas Tech finished 10th in the conference standings in 2024 with a 12-17 Big 12 record and a 33-26 overall slate. The Red Raiders have five Big 12 Conference titles under their belts.
The Black and Gold will finish their 2025 Big 12 campaign at home against the Baylor Bears, May 15-17. Baylor finished 11th in the Big 12 last season with a 10-20 conference record and a 22-31 overall record. The Knights claimed the series, 2-1, against the Bears in Waco in 2024.
The 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship will take place May 21-24 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the home of the Texas Rangers. The top 12 teams will qualify for the conference tournament this season.
With all Big 12 schools playing 10 conference series apiece, the Black and Gold will not match up with league newcomers Arizona, Arizona State and Utah during the 2025 regular season. Colorado and Iowa State do not currently sponsor the sport of baseball.
