ORLANDO- Coming off a fourth-place finish at the Illini Invitational, the UCF women’s golf team will head to Knoxville, Tennessee this week to compete in the 27th annual Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate. Hosted by Tennessee, the tournament will be held Sunday, October 20th, through Tuesday, October 22nd at the Cherokee Country Club.
The Knights will play alongside UNC Charlotte, Kent State, Georgia State, University of Miami, East Carolina, Middle Tennessee, Tennessee Chattanooga, Tennessee, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, Memphis, and Campbell University.
This marks the third year UCF has participated in the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate, with the Black and Gold finishing in first place last year. The 54-hole tournament will take place over three days with 18 holes each day. The course, built in 1907 by Donald Ross, spans 5,965 yards and plays as a par 71. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and Monday, with a 9:15 a.m. shotgun star on Tuesday.
The Knights lineup will feature Molly Smith, Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham, Mila Jurine, Jamie Camero, One Kashima and competing as an individual Katie Poots.
