ORLANDO – One of the more dominant pitchers in UCF softball’s program history, former AAC Pitcher of the Year and All-Big 12 First Team selection Sarah Willis will remain with the team as a graduate assistant ahead of the spring 2025 season.
“Getting to learn from one of the best pitching coaches in the nation in coach Cindy Ball-Malone is definitely one of the main reasons I wanted to stay. Getting to continue on a legacy at UCF and helping the program build is something I want to do. I want to help pitchers and everybody get better.”
“This role will help keep me in softball, and I’m able to still practice because I want to continue playing as long as I can. I also have the opportunity to learn about coaching and all the little things that you don’t usually think about when you’re watching somebody during a game. Getting those opportunities and learning what’s most important will help boost myself toward an eventual coaching career.”
“Just the atmosphere of UCF in general, it’s such a happy place to be. There’s such a good feel with being here, and the people around here is one of the main reasons I came back as well.”
