ORLANDO – UCF men’s golf will travel to Greenville, North Carolina, this weekend to compete in the Ironwood Collegiate Classic, hosted by East Carolina. The tournament will be held Monday, Sept. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Ironwood Golf and Country Club.

The Knights will play 54 holes in the event, with the first 36 slated for Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday. Play begins Monday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., as UCF’s golfers will tee off from holes four, five and six. Fans can follow the action live on Scoreboard by clicking here.

Appalachian State, Barton College, East Carolina, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Long Island, Maryland Eastern Shore, North Carolina A&T, Old Dominion, Presbyterian, Queens, Temple and West Georgia will join UCF in the 15-team field.

Designed by World Golf Hall of Famer and former PGA professional Lee Trevino, Ironwood Golf and Country Club opened in 1996 and is an 18-hole, par 72 course spanning 7,102 yards. It has previously served as an NCAA Regional site and hosted conference championships. The course is home to East Carolina’s men’s and women’s golf teams.

UCF’s lineup will feature Hans Risvaer, Lucas Dutartre, Chase Haygood, Clemente Silva and Palmer Haynes. Marc Keller will compete as an individual. The lineup was determined by each player being required to shoot four over or better through four rounds.

The final two spots were coaches’ picks determined by all the data points shown in the table below. Haygood was forced to miss a round due to an academic requirement and Gustav Andersson earned his way as the individual, but he will not participate due to an injury. Keller with the next-best score will compete as the individual.

The last time the Knights traveled to Greenville for a tournament, Risvaer won the individual title at the ECU Intercollegiate held earlier this year in March at Brook Valley Country Club. A freshman at the time, Risvaer carded a three-under-par 213 to earn his first collegiate victory. As a team, the Knights were second with an 881 (+17) to record its best finish of the 2023-24 campaign.
