HARRIS, Mich. – The first two rounds of the 2024-25 season are in the books for the UCF men’s golf team, as the Knights are ninth with a 598 (+22) team score following the first day of competition at the Island Resort Intercollegiate at Sage Run Golf Club.
The Black and Gold carded an eight-over-par 296 to tie for fourth place after the first 18 holes, but a tough second round with a 302 (+14) dropped UCF to ninth through 36 holes.
Junior Chase Haygood turned in the best round of his career to open the year, recording a 68 in the first round with five birdies. He’s tied for second on the player leaderboard with a five-under-par 139, after firing a 71 in the second round.
Making his UCF debut, transfer Lucas Dutartre put together a couple strong rounds to sit in a tie for ninth place following the first day of play. The Paris, France, native was three under (69) in the opening round of the year and three over in the second to finish even after two rounds.
Marc Keller had a great start to his sophomore campaign with a 75 (+3) and a 71 (-1) to tie for 18th on the player leaderboard while competing as an individual. Freshman Palmer Haynes and Jako Stavang Stubhaug each shot a 150 (+8), while Hans Risvaer is 10 over following the first two rounds.
Clemente Silva logged a 157 and Felix Schrott carded a 160 thanks to a strong second round at three over.
The Knights return to action at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning for the third and final round of the Island Resort Intercollegiate.
