ORLANDO - The Knights opened their 2024 cross country season at home in the UCF cross country invitational with a 3rd-place finish in the Women’s 5k race. Isabella Richardson led the charge for the Black and Gold with an impressive top-10 finish, securing 8th place with a time of 18:33.7.
Sophomore Abby Clements was next to cross the line for the Knights, finishing 21st with a time of 19:04.7. Right behind Clements was Kendall Hughes who set a new personal best with a time of 19:10.1.
Freshman Ava Quattrochi delivered a top-30 finish in her first college outing with a time of 19:15.6.
Following Quattrochi was a trio of Knights within five seconds of each other, as Paige Jaszczak (19:26.1), Penelope Sosa (19:31.0) and freshman Gianna Del Pizzo (19:31.5) slotted in at 30th, 32nd and 33rd respectfully.
Riley Jaszczak (19:55.2) and Reese Anderson (20:00.3) placed back-to-back, followed by Lucy Voss in 41st (20:12.7).
Freshman Avery Latto rounded out the field in 53rd with a debut time of 20:59.5.
The Knights will now embark on back-to-back competitions at Florida State, beginning with the FSU Pre-Regionals on Sept. 27 at 8 a.m. ET.
