ORLANDO – The UCF women’s soccer team will face three in-state opponents and play two home matches during its 2024 non-conference slate, the program announced Friday afternoon. The five-match non-league schedule will be followed by 11 Big 12 Conference matches, revealed in April by the conference office.
The squad will play one home exhibition match against Miami before kicking off the regular season. The Aug. 10 match will start at 6 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex and marks the second consecutive year that the two squads will play in a preseason match.
The Knights begin their regular season on the road for the second year in a row, traveling south to take on Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton Aug. 15. The 25th all-time meeting between the schools kicks off at 7 p.m.
For the first time in program history, Utah Valley will play at the UCF Soccer Complex, when the Black and Gold host the Wolverines for the home opener. The 5:30 p.m. match Aug. 22 marks just the second all-time meeting between the Knights and the Wolverines. The two previously met in 2022 in Orem, Utah, which resulted in a 0-0 draw.
UCF is back on the road for the following match, traveling to Gainesville to take on Florida. The schools will meet Aug. 25 for the first time since the 2022 season when the Knights shut out the Gators 3-0 to open the season at home. UCF is 4-2 against UF under head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak and has not dropped a match to the in-state rival since 2016.
Closing out the home non-conference schedule is a head-to-head with Georgia. The Senior Knight matchup sees the Bulldogs travel to Orlando for the first time in the Roberts Sahaydak era, though the two met in the 2023 season in Athens, Georgia, a 2-1 defeat for the Knights after a Georgia goal in the 90th minute. The match takes place Sept. 1 at 6 p.m., with festivities honoring the senior class occurring prior to the start.
The non-conference finale features a familiar foe in South Florida. The Knights will look to continue their success against the Bulls Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in Tampa. The two met last season in Orlando and resulted in a 2-0 shutout for UCF, the second of its season and first at home.
