by James Warnick

TALLHASSEE, Fla. – Due to inclement weather in the Tallahassee area, Saturday’s NCAA Tallahassee Regional contest between the third-seeded UCF Knights and the host and No. 8 national seed Florida State Seminoles has been pushed back to an 8 p.m. ET start.

An elimination game between the second-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide and fourth-seeded Stetson Hatters has also been moved to a 3:30 p.m. ET start. For any more time changes and updates, please visit UCFKnights.com or @UCF_Baseball on Twitter.

The Knights advanced to Saturday’s winner’s bracket with a hard-fought 8-7 victory over the Crimson Tide in the opening round on Friday night. With the game deadlocked at 7-7 in the top of the ninth inning, Andrew Sundean delivered a two-out pinch-hit RBI single to left-center to bring in Jack Zyska and give the Black and Gold the late lead. Kris Sosnowski remained on the mound for his second inning of work in the last of the ninth and managed to pitch around a two-out hit to seal the victory.

The win marked UCF’s first NCAA Regional victory since June 2, 2012, when it defeated Stony Brook at the 2012 Coral Gables Regional.

Senior right-hander Ben Vespi (4-3, 4.44 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Black and Gold and will face FSU left-hander Jamie Arnold (10-3, 2.45 ERA). The Seminoles will enter the game with a 43-15 overall record and opened the NCAA Tallahassee Regional with a 7-2 win over Stetson on Friday afternoon.

Saturday’s contest will air live on ESPN+ as well as on the radio at 96.9 The Game.
