ORLANDO – One week after being named Women’s Golf Coaches Association Division I All-Americans, UCF women’s golfers Molly Smith and Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham have been named to the All-Big 12 Team, the league announced Friday afternoon. The two join nine other golfers in receiving the recognition from the conference.

UCF is one of just three programs to have more than one student-athlete named to team along with Iowa State and Texas.

Smith’s standout freshman season earned a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 team, one of just five unanimous selections. She finished her season with four top-five finishes, one individual tournament win and was named to the ANNIKA Award Final Fall and Spring Watch Lists. The Westford, Massachusetts, native participated in all 11 tournaments played for the Knights and helped lead the team to their second tournament win of the fall at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate.

Her first tournament win in the Black and Gold came at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate , where she carded a team-leading 12 under par, including eight birdies in her final round. The freshman shot 16 rounds under par on the season and tied for the team lead with six 54-hole scores under par. Smith was the top individual finisher for the Knights in four tournaments, including the NCAA Regionals in Bermuda Run where she finished two under par. She became the first UCF golfer to earn Big 12 Women’s Golfer of the Month honors in October, finishing in the top-15 individually in all tournaments played during the month. Smith turned in a 206 (-10) at the UCF Challenge, finishing each round at least two strokes under par.

The nod to the All-Big 12 Team is Sisutham’s second all-conference honor in as many seasons with UCF, as she was named to the American Athletic All-Conference Team in her freshman season. The Bangkok, Thailand, native is one of just four sophomores to earn a spot on the team after a phenomenal second season with the Knights.

The sophomore competed in 10 tournaments during the season, finishing under par in six tournaments. The Bangkok, Thailand, native was the top finisher for the Knights in four tournaments, a team high. Sisutham opened the fall season with a career-best -11 to finish fourth at the Cougar Classic. She led the team in the following tournament as well, where she shot 71 or better in all three rounds to finish one under at the Evie Odom, leading the squad to its first team victory of the season.

Sisutham opened the month of March with a bang, turning in an impressive 204 (-6) at the Gators Invitational to earn the co-champion honor for the second consecutive year. Throughout the tournament, she carded 11 birdies, the second most at the competition.

She is currently playing in the U.S. Women’s Open held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, after shooting even par at the Bradenton Country Club Qualifier to secure a berth in the prestigious field.
