ORLANDO – Following a stellar sophomore season, UCF women’s golfer Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham is set to tee off in the 79th U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship held this week at the Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She will make her debut at the tournament Thursday, May 30 with a 7:29 a.m. tee time.

Sisutham will tee off along with Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association (LPGA) player Alexandra Forsterling of Germany and LPGA of Japan member Sora Kamiya. Following two rounds of play at the tournament, a cut will be made of the top 60 players, including ties.

The Bangkok, Thailand, native is one of just 22 amateurs in the field of 146 players to earn a bid to the championship after qualifying at the Bradenton Country Club Qualifier, shooting even par at the event.

The Knight shined in her second season with the Black and Gold, earning co-champion individual honors at the Gators Invitational and compiling UCF’s best score in four tournaments.

The sophomore was also most recently named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American, earning a spot on the Division I honorable mention team along with teammate Molly Smith.
