UCF Men’s Golf Adds Transfer Clemente Silva

ORLANDO – UCF men’s golf head coach Bryce Wallor announced Tuesday the addition of transfer Clemente Silva to the 2024-25 roster. Silva joins the Knights following two seasons at VCU where he compiled a scoring average of 73.49 and tallied 14 rounds at par or better over the two years.

The VCU Rams won the Atlantic 10 Championship and advanced to NCAA Regionals this past season.

As a sophomore with the Rams, Silva recorded a stroke average of 73.56. He put together his best showing of the season at the VCU Shootout, logging a 54-hole score of 213 (-3). Silva had two rounds at or under par at the event, headlined by a season-low 68 (-4) in the second round with five birdies. He shot an even par 72 in the opening round and closed out the tournament with a 73.

Silva’s best finish on the player leaderboard came at the Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate held in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, where he finished tied for 18th to help lead VCU to the tournament title. He had seven birdies in the tournament, including four in the final round to shoot a 70 (-2).

During his freshman season, Silva played in nine tournaments and played 30 total rounds. He posted a scoring average of 73.47, the fourth best on the team. Silva tallied 10 rounds of par or better, highlighted by a 67 in the second round at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. He finished 15th in the tournament, after also carding a 68 in the opening round.

Additionally, Silva has competed in numerous open tournaments and most recently won the Campeonato FChG 1 held in Chile with a three-round score of 205 (-11), headlined by a 65 in the third round. He also won the same event last year with a 69, 70 and 67 to finish with a 10 under par.

Silva claimed the tournament title at the FG Sports Tournament in August 2023 in South America, firing a 210 thanks to a 73, 66 and a 71.

Silva competed in the 2023 Latin American Amateur Championship held in Puerto Rico and the 2022 World Amateur Team Championship in France.

A native of Santiago, Chile, Silva is pursuing a degree in business and began playing golf at the age of 11.
